NEO recognizes the prior learning experiences of licensed paramedics and licensed practical nurses.
NEO has designed a program that allows those who qualify to acquire advanced standing credit for a portion of the nursing courses and to complete the remainder of the program while remaining employed.
Course work for the Fast Track option includes online learning activities, on-site skills laboratory experiences, and clinical experiences in northeast Oklahoma and Joplin, Missouri.
This Fast Track option is offered at the NEO-Grove Higher Education Center, Grove, Oklahoma.
To be eligible for the Fast Track option, the licensed paramedic or licensed practical nurse must have all general education and support courses completed prior to enrollment in the nursing courses.
A student must formally apply to the Department of Nursing and submit available transcripts and ACT scores by March 1, preceding the Fall Semester he/she plans to enter the Nursing Program. Entry is very competitive. ACT scores and grade point average are weighed heavily in the calculation of the overall score used in the determination of acceptance into the program.
