Anna Milligan, an NEO alumni and President’s Partner, will serve as this year’s keynote speaker during the annual Honors Banquet on Thursday, March 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the Calcagno Family Ball Room at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO).

During the Honors Banquet, NEO officials recognize students who were named to the fall 2013 President’s and Deans’ Honor Rolls, as well as those listed in the latest ‘Who’s Who among American Junior Colleges’ publication and the Top 10 Freshmen.

“It is an honor to have a former graduate of the college address NEO students who have excelled in academics, leadership and service,” said NEO President Dr. Jeff Hale. “Anna is an excellent role model, inspirational speaker, and contributes a great deal of her personal success to her foundation at NEO.”

Milligan grew up in Miami and attended NEO, where she received her associate’s degree in 1959. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tulsa with her bachelors in 1961 and a masters in 1966. She received another bachelors in library science from OSU. She spent 34 years working at Holland Hall School in Tulsa serving as the director of college counseling.

Milligan is now retired, but she serves as the vice chairwoman of NEO’s Foundation Board and played an active role in the development of the Charles Banks Wilson Gallery, which was formally dedicated last August.

Milligan said her most important accomplishment was raising two sons. One is a mechanical engineer who works for American Airlines, and the other is an electrical engineer who works for the government.

She is a registered Parliamentarian, a life member of the American Association of University Women.  She co-authored a book (part of an American Library Association series):  Reading for Young People:  The Southwest.  She is active in the First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, an avid reader, and enjoys traveling.
