NEO Press Releases

On Saturday, March 29th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the members of NEO Women & Friends (NW&F), will host the second annual NEO EXPO, a spring craft fair featuring art, jewelry, home décor, hair and clothing accessories, plus lots of seasonal gift items. The craft fair will be in the Bruce Carter Student Union, and it is free and open to the public.

The purpose of the NEO EXPO is to raise money for NEO scholarships and provide the local community an opportunity to shop for fun and unique gifts right here in Miami, Okla.

“We encourage everyone to invite friends and family to attend the Expo,” said Donna Hale, executive chairwoman of NW&F. “This will be a great opportunity to shop local and find that perfect gift for someone special. Easter is coming right up, Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and graduations are in May, so this is a great way to treat your kids, your mom, or even yourself. “

More than 30 vendors will be on site to showcase a wide variety of unique and affordably priced items, including jewelry by Country Pearls & Bling, Tierra Woods Woodworking, Oak Creek Baskets, Tattered Flair, Crochet Creations by Delores, and Family Affair Crafts.

“We’re also very excited to have representatives from Pampered Chef, Thirty-One Gifts, Origami Owl and Trades of Hope with us this year,” said NW&F member, Alisen Anderson. “These popular vendors always have such great merchandise, and everyone can find something they want for themselves or to share with a friend.”

A new addition to the craft fair this year is INTEGRIS Baptist Regional Health Center of Miami partnering with NEO Women & Friends to provide wellness evaluations, including blood pressure monitoring. The first 100 people who visit the INTEGRIS booth win free glucose and total cholesterol testing, plus a free bone density and BMI screening.

“We’re so excited to offer these wellness screenings at the NEO EXPO,” said Tara Oelke, from IBRHC. “It’s great to support the mission of NW&F as they empower students to succeed, because a healthy lifestyle is such an important component in empowering not just students, but everyone in our community to live the best life possible.”

With more than 40 vendors set up on Saturday, shoppers can expect to shop a large variety of vendors for good quality crafts and merchandise. Concessions will be available in The Galley from Sodexo food services, and shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of IBRHC wellness screenings on site.

“The day should be fun and filled with great products and charming booths,” Hale said. “Attending the NEO EXPO is a great way to spend your Saturday.”
