NEO offers more than 100 scholarships to help students pay for college!

In addition to federal student aid and Native-American benefits, you may be eligible for the following types of scholarships:

  1. NEO academic scholarships & housing waivers
  2. NEO Development Foundation scholarships
  3. Activity scholarships (such as athletics and arts, typically awarded through tryout or audition)

To apply for all NEO academic and Foundation scholarships with one easy form, click the button below or visit scholarships.neo.edu. It’s free to apply. All applicants must upload their most current transcript and a one-page essay. Essay criteria: Please compose a one-page typed essay about your current educational goals, your degree of commitment to pursue a college education and how you anticipate contributing to society. Please include any additional details you believe are important.

THE PRIORITY DEADLINE FOR MOST SCHOLARSHIPS IS APRIL 1. Academic scholarships will not be extended. Other scholarships may re-open based on funds availability.

1. NEO A&M College Institutional Scholarships

Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholars

  • Apply by April 1 and enroll by June 1.
  • Unlimited general enrollment tuition per year.
  • Must be Oklahoma resident, 29+ ACT score, or 3.7 GPA and 26 ACT composite score, or 3.7 GPA and either top 5% or rank 1st or 2nd in graduating class.
  • Please attach a resume listing awards, activities, work experience, and community service to your application for consideration. The NEO scholarship committee will select four recipients.

Dobson Presidential

  • Apply by April 1 and enroll by June 1.
  • 32 hours of general enrollment tuition per year.
  • 26+ ACT composite score and rank in the top 25% of the class.
  • Please attach a resume listing awards, activities, work experience, and community service to your application for consideration. The NEO scholarship committee will select 10 recipients.

Tri-County Excellence

  • Apply by April 1 and enroll by June 1.
  • $1,000 general enrollment tuition per year.
  • Competitive scholarship awarded to one student from each high school in Craig, Delaware, and Ottawa Counties. Award based on ACT, GPA, and a letter of recommendation from a high school representative.

Norse Honor

  • Apply by April 1 and enroll by June 1.
  • $1,000 general enrollment tuition per year.
  • 24+ ACT composite score and a 3.5 GPA.

Merit Residential Tuition

  • Apply by May 1 and enroll by June 1.
  • $800 general enrollment tuition per year.
  • 22+ ACT composite score. Students must submit an application, pay a Housing deposit, and enroll full-time at NEO by the application deadline. The NEO scholarship committee will select 10 recipients.

Housing Waivers (Dorm Room)

Twin/Triplet Room Waiver — Double occupancy, traditional dorm room rate waived for each sibling. Twin/triplets must attend NEO together but are not required to live together on campus. Housing fees still apply.

OK Promise Room Waiver — Double occupancy, traditional dorm room rate waiver awarded to applicants meeting all OK Promise criteria. Housing fees still apply.

Scholarships with a 3.5 GPA Requirement

Collard Family Scholarship — The student must demonstrate strong academic performance and community involvement during high school and have a 3.5 GPA. The student must be a healthcare, math, or science major.

Milligan Family Distinguished Scholar Award — The student must be a graduating high school senior who has and maintains a 3.5 GPA and demonstrate strong leadership skills in their high school and have participated in community service. This is a 2-year scholarship.

NEO Honors Program Elite Scholarship — Must be an incoming freshman who lives more than 50 miles from campus. Student must be a full member of the NEO Honors Program, have a composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a 3.5 or higher GPA and rank in the top 10% of their high school graduation class.

Scholarships with a 3.2 GPA Requirement

NEO Equine Scholarship — For eligibility, an incoming freshman must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher, be a declared EQRM-Equine option major, and have demonstrated involvement in the equine industry. Sophomore recipients must maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher, declare an EQRM-Equine option major, and have participated in NEO equine courses, teams and/or clubs.

Scholarships with a 3.0 GPA Requirement

Amy Mesplay Memorial Scholarship — Recipient must be a graduating high school senior from Columbus, Kansas and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Billie Pearl Able Memorial Scholarship — The candidate must be a graduate of Wyandotte High School and be a female basketball player with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Calcagno Art Scholarship —The recipient must be an Art Major, enrolled in 15 hours each semester. The recipient must have a high school GPA of 3.0 and must maintain a 2.8 while enrolled as an Art Major at NEO.

Don Caskey Memorial Science Scholarship — Recipient must be a Natural Science major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Henry F. Beechhold Memorial Endowment in Honor of Jake L. Whitecrow — Preference will be given to a full-time Native American student. Recipient must also be a health science major and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

JoAn Taylor Memorial Scholarship — The student must be a female business major from Oklahoma and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Kent and Kayleen Thomas Scholarship — Qualifying candidate must be a full-time student who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or teaching. Recipients should have a minimum 3.0 GPA in high school and a minimum 3.0 GPA at NEO to maintain this award for two years of study at NEO. 

Kevin Pool Memorial Horse Judging Scholarship — Minimum high school GPA – 3.0. Male and female students may apply. Students must have previously competed in horse judging. Applicants must include their need for the scholarship and their collegiate/career ambitions in their essay and submit two letters of reference from a previous coach, teacher, or principal. Criteria judged 25% on essay, 25% on need, 25% on GPA, 25% on personal references.

Marijane Gregg Sidote Scholarship — Must be a Health Science or Engineering major with a 3.0 or higher GPA, demonstrated work history and/or community service. Essay should include, “why I deserve this scholarship.”

Michael J. Youngwirth Scholarship — Qualifying candidate must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrated leadership skills in high school and have been involved with extra-curricular activities. First preference is given to a student-athlete.

NEO Women and Friends Scholarship — Recipient must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This award may be applied to tuition, fee, room/board, and/or books.

Robert S. Gee Memorial Scholarship — To qualify, the applicant must have an ACT composite of at least 18, be enrolled in 15 or more credit hours each semester, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and an excellent disciplinary record. Applicant should submit two letters of recommendation from a high school business instructor, counselor, principal, superintendent, or employer. 

Roger Fent Scholarship — First priority is given to an incoming freshman from the four-state area (OK, KS, AR, MO.) Second preference is given to all incoming freshmen. Student must not be receiving funding from an NEO competitive ag team. The student must be in an Agriculture related area and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Sarah Lomax Scholarship — The scholarship is given to female students pursuing a degree in healthcare. Priority is given to pre-pharmacy majors. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Tom and Judy Poole Scholarship — The recipients of this scholarship must be a full-time student at NEO with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Nursing Major Scholarships with a 3.0 GPA Requirement

Catherine Randall Nursing Scholarship — The student must be a first-year, full-time nursing student. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA. This is a 2-year scholarship.

Dr. Carol Ann Morris Memorial Nursing Scholarship— The student must be in the nursing program and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Scholarships with a 2.75 GPA Requirement

William E. (Willie) and Jane Osborn Scholarship — The student must be a graduating senior from an Ottawa County high school with a 2.75 GPA. Preference is given to students who demonstrate leadership qualities at their high school and in the community.

Scholarships with a 2.5 GPA Requirement

Arvest Business Scholarship — The recipient must be a business major, enrolled in at least 12 hours, and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Art Cousatte Honorary Scholarship — Student must have and maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to students majoring in business. 

Buffalo Run Casino and Resort Team Member Scholarship — This scholarship is open to full-time and part-time employees in “good standing” of both Buffalo Run Casino and Hotel. The recipient must be enrolled in at least 6 hours of college credit, maintain an average 2.5 GPA, and submit a one-page essay about “Team Building.” 

Business 2000 Scholarship — The recipient must be enrolled in a program in the Business and Technology Department (BADM, BADT, CS, or SPMG) and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. 

Business and Technology Future Professional Woman Scholarship — To be eligible for this award, a student must be a business major with a 2.5 GPA. Priority is given to a female student majoring in business and involved in campus-wide activities such as Business Clubs, Norse Stars, Cheerleading, Athletics, Fine Arts, etc. The ideal student will have a heart for giving back and participated in community service. Final priority is given to a male student.

Carolyn Elmore Memorial Scholarship — Priority is given to students with a connection to Picher, Oklahoma. Students must reference their connection to Picher in their scholarship essay. They must demonstrate leadership qualities and involvement with volunteer services. Preference is given to students interested in nursing and are enrolled full-time and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Charles Banks Wilson Scholarship — This scholarship may be used for tuition or books. The student must be a fine arts major and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Priority is given to students with an ACT score of 16. Student must submit a list of references and portfolio.

Darlene Aldridge Pre-engineering Scholarship — Preference will be given to students from Mayes County and second preference to Ottawa County students. Recipient must be a mathematics or pre-engineering major with a desire to continue education in their chosen field. Must have a 2.5 GPA. 

Dobson Alliance Scholarship — The recipient must be enrolled full-time in a business major and maintain a 2.5 GPA. This candidate must also be willing to work some volunteer hours in the Dobson Museum.

Dr. Charles H. & JoAnn Angle Scholarship — The student must maintain a 2.5 GPA. This scholarship is used for books only. 

Earnie and Mary Patterson NEO Baseball/Softball Scholarship — The student must be a member of the baseball or softball team and maintain a 2.5 GPA. 

Emory Harrison Jr. Memorial Scholarship — To be eligible for this award, the student should be an athlete with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Priority will be given to student athletes in football. If there are no eligible football athletes, other students athletes will be eligible for consideration.

Faye Vann Scholarship – Student must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Freeman Athletic Training Scholarship — To be eligible, the student must be a sophomore student recognized for good citizenship and character; have contributed to overall athletic department goals while enrolled as a freshman; and have a demonstrated financial need. Scholarship requires a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Gaines Memorial Music Scholarship — The recipient of this scholarship must demonstrate a financial need, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and is based on musical talent.

Gary Williamson Honorary Scholarship — Student must have and maintain 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to student athletes playing football and pursuing a degree in Information Technology. 

Hale Family Scholarship — The recipient must be an NEO sophomore from Ottawa, Craig, or Delaware County. The award requires a minimum 2.5 GPA. 

Homa and Lois Thomas — The student must be an education major with a 2.5 GPA. Recipient must be a US Citizen. Priority will be given to students from Ottawa County first, and then the four-county area surrounding Ottawa County. Priority is given to a student athlete, with first priority going to baseball. 

Jake L. Whitecrow Health Science Scholarship — First priority is given to Native American students. The student must be a health science major and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Jennifer Wauleah Lunsford Memorial Scholarship — First preference is Native American students from Ottawa County with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Lance Porterfield Memorial Scholarship — One current NEO student will receive the scholarship for their sophomore year and one high school senior will receive a two-year award with first preference given to a Rodeo student, with second preference given to other Ag Students. Preference will be given to students from Missouri. Student must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Larry Davis Memorial Agronomy Scholarship — Recipient must be an agronomy option major and hold a 2.5 or higher GPA.

LeRoy and Pearl Dukes Memorial Scholarship — The scholarship is a two-year award for a Native American pursuing a general studies degree at NEO. First preference will be given to a graduating high school senior of the Quapaw or Seneca tribes. Second preference will be given to any Oklahoma high school graduating senior of Native American descent. Final preference will be given to any high school graduating senior of Native American descent. Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. 

M. Annette Black Norseman Success Scholarship — First preference is given to students of single-parent households. The student must maintain a 2.5 GPA. 

Marge Jurgensmeyer Memorial Scholarship — This scholarship is open to J&M Farms (or a directly affiliated company) employees or dependents. Must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled as a full-time student. 

Mason McWatters Memorial Scholarship — The recipient must be in good standing, graduate with at least a 2.5 GPA, majoring in environmental science or a related course of study. Qualified students who are enrolled tribal members of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma will be given first consideration. Qualified students who are enrolled tribal members of a federally recognized Native American tribe other than the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma will be given second consideration. Non-Native American qualified students will be granted subsequent consideration. 

Miami & Green Country Concrete Scholarship Fund — Preference will be given to the applicant who demonstrates leadership characteristics. The recipient must reside in Oklahoma and be a full-time student with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

NEO Business Office/Personnel Excellence Scholarship — This scholarship is available to a student with a minimum 2.5 GPA and will be selected by the NEO Business Office.

NEO Faculty and Staff Centennial Scholarship — The student must be a returning sophomore, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and enrolled in 12 hours.

NEO Retirees Centennial Scholarship — The student must be a returning sophomore, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and enrolled in 12 hours. 

Red Robertson Memorial Scholarship — This award will be given to a student-athlete who is enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, demonstrates leadership traits, and maintains a 2.5 GPA.

Rachel Pickens — Freshman student with a GPA of 2.5. Priority should be given to students taking Agriculture classes. Other priority to consider: a strong background in 4H, FFA, and other Agriculture programs.

Richard Giles Hatfield Future Educators Scholarship — First priority is given to first-generation students majoring in education with a plan to teach in the STEM field, are involved in Fine Arts and are from Ottawa County. Second priority is given to students from the four-state area (OK, KS, MO, AR.) The student must maintain a 2.5 GPA. If the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and extra $500 will be added to the scholarship after the first semester. Note: If the student maintains this scholarship they may apply and will be given priority for associated scholarships at Oklahoma State University.

Rick Vandaveer Honorary Scholarship — The student must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA.  Preference will be given to student athletes with a first focus on a Woman’s Basketball player.

Ronnie and Dr. Janet Eades Scholarship — Must be between 18 and 40 years of age. First preference is a student from Wyandotte or Commerce, OK. Second preference from NE Oklahoma or SE Kansas.  Student must be majoring in Education and have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.

Sandy Sherard Memorial Scholarship — The student must be a natural science major and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Sam Wynn Memorial Scholarship in Construction Science — First priority is given to a student who is a family member of Sam Wynn. Second priority is given to a construction management student with a 2.5 GPA. Third priority is given to any student with a 3.0 GPA.

Tom and Shirley Bomford Business Scholarship — The student must be a business major and maintain a 2.5 GPA. 

Tommy Dodson Memorial Scholarship — Must be a full-time student and taking courses in the Fine Arts. Preference is given to students in (1) Choir, (2) Theatre, (3) Band. A minimum GPA of 2.5 must be maintained.

Virgil and Marge Jurgensmeyer Agriculture Education Scholarship — Recipient must be an incoming freshman enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours, maintain a 2.5 GPA, has financial need and must be an agriculture major. First preference will be given to students who study food safety or plan to pursue a career in food safety.

Simpson Co-ed Athletic Scholarship —Student must be an incoming freshman from NE Oklahoma, SE Kansas or SW Missouri and have a 2.5 GPA.

Win Ingersoll Memorial Scholarship — To be eligible for this scholarship the student should be an animal science major with a 2.5 GPA. Priority will be given to students from Mayes, Rogers and Craig counties.

Wylie S. Hough DVM Memorial Scholarship — Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Priority will be given to Ag students who are involved in Agriculture related activities. Scholarship may be awarded to a freshman or sophomore student. Returning students are encouraged to apply.

Nursing Major Scholarships with a 2.5 GPA Requirement

Carolyn L. Palmer Nursing Scholarship — Recipient must be a nursing major and enrolled in at least 12 hours. Academic achievement is the top priority and recipient must have a minimum 18 ACT score and a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Dan and Tim Drury Memorial Training Scholarship – Recipient must be from Newcastle or Vinita, Oklahoma and enrolled in the athletic training program. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher to receive the scholarship and maintain a 3.0 to continue the scholarship. Recipient will be selected by the Athletic Training Director.

Independent Order of Oddfellows of Miami Nursing Scholarship — Recipient must be a nursing major and a resident of Oklahoma. The scholarship requires a minimum 2.5 GPA.

McFerron Family Nursing Scholarship — To qualify, the applicant must be a nursing student with a 2.5 GPA. 

Randall and Jackie Howard Scholarship — First priority is given to nursing students. The student must maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Susan Graham Memorial Scholarship — The recipient of this scholarship must maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA and be enrolled in the nursing program.

Terri Miller Memorial Scholarship — Recipient must be accepted into the nursing program and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Preference is given to students who are single parents.

Scholarships with a 2.0 GPA Requirement

B.J. Tunnell Memorial Scholarship — Recipient must be the child of a current law enforcement officer, majoring in criminal justice with plans to become a law enforcement officer, reside in Ottawa, Delaware or Craig County and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

River Bottom Sportsmen for Disabled Veterans/Mid-America Chapter for Paralyzed Veterans of American Veterans’ Scholarship — This scholarship can be applied to tuition, fees, books, and room and board. First preference is given to active and retired military personnel; second preference is given to dependents (spouse/children) of active and retired military personnel; and final preference is given to extended family members of active and retired military personnel. The recipient must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in at least 6 hours. Special consideration will be given to students enrolled in an online course that is less than 6 hours.

Nursing Major Scholarships with no GPA Requirement

Bobbie Woods Nursing Scholarship — The student must be enrolled in the Nursing Program at NEO.

Nursing Faculty Scholarship — The recipient must be enrolled in the Nursing Program as a second-year nursing student. Awarded based on academic merit, clinical performance and financial need.

Scholarships without GPA Requirements

#3 BFT (#3 British Flyers Training School) Scholarship — Must be a graduate of Miami High School enrolling at NEO A&M College. Students must reference their knowledge of the history of the British Flyers in Miami, OK in their scholarship essay. 

Benjamin Quapaw Scholarship — First priority is given to a student who is a family member of Benjamin Quapaw. Second priority is given to an enrolled member of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma. Third priority is given to a member of any federally recognized Native American Tribe.

Charlein O. and Jim K. Fribley Scholarship —Primary consideration is given to students of minority races, however all scholarships are granted on a nondiscriminatory basis insofar as race, creed, or national origin are concerned. Must be enrolled full-time.

Dr. Robert Swanson Memorial Scholarship — Recipient must be a member of the NEO Band program.

Drama and Theatre Endowed Scholarship — Must be enrolled full-time and active in NEO Theatre. Priority is given to married couple based on need.

Ed Woodington Memorial Scholarship — The student must be a sophomore and enrolled member of any federally recognized Native American Tribe.

E.J. Grieshaber Social Science Scholarship — Recipient must be a social science major.

Janice Gatewood Scholarship — Recipient must be an education major and have a minimum composite ACT score of 21. 

Manhattan Construction Scholarship — Must be a graduate of an Oklahoma high school.

Physical Therapist Assistant Scholarship — The recipient must be enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at NEO and must have completed 12 hours of prerequisite coursework at NEO.

Ronnie and Dr. Janet Eads Scholarship — Priority will be given to first-generation college students from Wyandotte or Commerce, Oklahoma, majoring in education, business or pre-engineering. Second priority is given to students from Ottawa, Craig or Delaware County or Cherokee or Labette County. 

Roy Wilson Scholarship for Agriculture — Recipient will be a graduate of Wyandotte Schools, enrolled full-time in an agriculture field.

Samuel Harris Wells, Jr., Soccer Scholarship — The student must be a member of the men’s or women’s soccer team. This scholarship funds books, tuition and/or living expenses.

Spinning Arrow Boys & Girls Scholarship — Student must be a graduate of Kansas High School in Kansas, Oklahoma, and have financial need based on government requirements for Financial Aid.

Treva McColey Scholarship — The student must be a graduate of a Craig County Oklahoma High School.
