Melinda Huff

My name is Melinda (Mel Huff).  This is my 4th year at NEO.  I teach physical geology (GEOL 1114), environmental science (ENVR 1114), and general physical science (PHYS 1014).  All three of these classes fulfill the general education physical science requirement here at NEO.

In addition, NEO will begin offering a new course in Global Studies (GLST 1113) for fall 2010.  The course will include 3 major areas: Society (taught by Beth Blalock), Crime (taught by Troy Fugate), and the Environment (taught by me).

I have a BS in biology from Harding University ('95), a BA in geology from the University of MN-Duluth ('03) (with minors in environmental studies and limnology (the study of lakes, streams, and wetlands)), an MS in water resources science from the University of MN-Twin Cities (an interdisciplinary degree covering the biological, chemical, geological, and physical aspects of water resources as well as policy and planning) ('06).

I have been happily married for over 16 years, and I have two wonderful children: Jonah and Morgen.

I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes.  For more information on the classes, please use the links to the left.

Important Note
