Shannon Sample - Biology Instructor


After 16 years as a public school teacher Shannon Sample has joined the faculty of the NEO science and math department as a Biology Instructor in 2010.    Shannon has been recognized by SBG as the Outstanding Faculty Member for Departments of Ag and Natural Science in 2013 and received the Dobson Service Award in 2014. She is the Director of the NEO Regional Science and Engineering Fair.  She has also served on the Advisory Council to the International Science and Engineering Fair, where she was the chair of the symposia committee in 2013.  She received her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Biology Education from Missouri Southern State University and received a Master’s of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.  Shannon makes her home on the Sample Ranch, south of Miami with her husband, Jeff and her children, Taylor and Jace, seven cats, two dogs, and lots of cows.  When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys traveling, snow skiing, going to the beach, and reading.
