After 16 years as a public school teacher Shannon Sample has joined the faculty of the NEO science and math department as a Biology Instructor. She spent the past twelve years teaching a number of science courses at Seneca High School, including the implementation of a highly successful Science Research program where both she and her students received regional, state, national and international recognition, scholarships and awards. Shannon has been recognized by a number of organizations for her contributions to Science Teaching and Science Research. She received her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Biology Education from Missouri Southern State University and is currently working on a Master’s of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Shannon makes her home on the Sample Ranch, south of Miami with her husband, Jeff and her children, Taylor and Jace, two cats, one dog, one fish and lots of cows. When she isn’t teaching, she enjoys traveling, snow skiing, going to the beach, and reading.
