Step Two

Go to www.fafsa.gov to file

-- Gather all the documents you will need.  See FAFSA website for details.

-- You want to file the FAFSA every year as soon after January 1 as you can

-- You can use estimated income information to file, but you will need to update your application once you have figured your taxes

-- Print out and save a copy of your FAFSA Confirmation Page.

This is proof that your FAFSA has been filed.  If you don’t get a confirmation page, you haven’t filed a FAFSA yet.

Tip

APRIL 1 is NEO's priority deadline for the Fall Semester

You can file after this date, but you may not receive as much aid as those who file early.  You also increase your chances that your aid will not be complete when you need it to pay for books and other expenses.
