Biography

Amanda received her associate’s degree in agriculture from NEO in 2008. During her time at NEO, she was very involved as an ag ambassador, student body government officer, and part of the 2007 horse judging team coached by Shannon Cunningham.

Her judging team was very successful and received reserve at the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) All-American Quarter Horse Congress and reserve at the AQHA World Championship judging contest. She then transferred to Oklahoma State University were she received her bachelor’s degree in animal science in 2010.

Burrows was also part of the 2008 horse judging team at OSU where she received first high individual and was also a member of an AQHA World Champion team. Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree, Burrows was hired at West Texas A&M University in 2011 as the assistant horse judging coach and WTAMU horse center office manager. While she was assistant coach at WTAMU, she was fortunate to help coach an All-American Quarter Horse Congress and AQHA World champion team.

Burrows is currently working on her master’s degree from WTAMU and plans on finishing her degree in spring 2013 in equine nutrition.
