The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Adult Learning Center is offering free GED and HiSet high school equivalency test preparation courses in Ottawa, Craig, and Delaware counties during the spring semester. The classes and materials are offered free and students only pay for the tests they feel prepared to complete. Students may participate in a variety of courses that meet their needs. Along with traditional high school equivalency test (HSE) prep, the Adult Learning Center offers courses designed for speakers of English as a second language and hearing impaired students.
For more information about the GED, visit www.ged.com, or to learn more about the HiSet exam, visit www.hiset.ets.com. Students under 18 must provide a completed release form, which can be found at http://sde.ok.gov/sde/sites/ok.gov.sde/files/AdultEd-ConsentForm.pdf or at the Adult Learning Center Office in Dyer Hall. No pre-registration is necessary for the courses that can last from 8 weeks to the entire spring semester, which starts Jan. 15. The classes use a combination of computer lessons, small group learning, and individual instruction to prepare students to take a variety of high school equivalency exams.
For more information or to find a class near you, contact Adult Learning Center Director Cheryle Martin at 918-540-6292 or cheryle.martin@neo.edu.
