You’ll be glad you started here

NEO can provide you with a great foundation in academics, athletics and beyond. After graduation, students are prepared to go on to earn a bachelor’s degree or have skills to enter the workforce. Additionally, our educational programs offer unique enrichment opportunities for community members desiring to pursue an area of interest.

A great place to call home

Whether you’ve come straight from high school to get your feet wet in higher education or you’re coming from an established career to increase your earning potential, you’ll find your place.

NEO is home to many kinds of students on their educational paths. Many of our students attend NEO during high school and right after they graduate from high school. Other students take a different route, deciding to go to college later in their careers. First-generation college students and people who have earned or are working on their GED are all welcome at NEO. Part-time students enjoy the flexibility of being able to take classes at their own pace. We accept every student who applies to attend.

Financial aid makes college affordable

Ninety-three percent of first-time freshmen receive financial aid. Our partners and scholarship programs provide a variety of local resources to put students on the best paths. If you qualify for the Oklahoma Promise program, at NEO, you qualify for free housing.

Get plugged into the campus vibe

Experience the excitement of being on a college campus rich with century-deep traditions and fun activities. Whether it’s participating in a homecoming weekend packed with festivities, participating in choir or theater, attending a rodeo or having a barbeque with your friends, there’s always something going on at NEO. Ideally located in suburban Miami, Oklahoma, the NEO campus is close and convenient for commuting and part-time students. On-campus housing accommodates local students and students attending NEO from around the world.

Diversity welcome

Our varied degree programs include 42 academic majors across five academic departments. Nearly two-thirds of our students take classes full-time and most live on campus. The average student age is 21. Forty-six percent of students are a minority or two or more races. Students of all backgrounds find success in our academics. At any given time, students from about 35 states and more than a dozen countries attend NEO.

Come here to play

Many NEO students have the chance to be involved in activities and athletics, from our standout football, basketball and rodeo teams, to our new competitive e-Sports gaming clubs. Our Intramural programs are enjoyed by those who want to stay active but aren’t in team sports. Our sports programs have a rich tradition, are highly competitive and have won many national championships. Many players have excelled at NEO on their path to becoming Division 1 athletes and ultimately playing professionally. Our campus boasts a 200-acre farm complete with an indoor performance area and horse stables where many rodeo students choose to board their horses.

Former Norsemen

We’re proud of our students who have found success at NEO and beyond. Whether they become prominent business leaders, like Vintage Stock President Rodney Spriggs; community leaders like former State Congressman and Vinita Mayor, Chuck Hoskin, Sr.; or education leaders like Rose State College President Dr. Jeanie Webb, NEO alumni lead their fields nationwide.
