During commencement week, the American Indian Center for Excellence honored its graduating students with a special pinning ceremony. AICE awarded Chief Glenna Wallace of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma with the Distinguished Leader Award. Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. of the Cherokee Nation was the keynote speaker. Both individuals gave remarks on their time spent at NEO.
