The Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges recently held its annual conference luncheon on Oct. 5, and named Calvin Becker, Lisa Lewis, and Steve Grimes as the recipients of a special OACC award for outstanding faculty, support staff, and professional employees. The program was announced earlier this year, making the NEO recipients members of the inaugural class of honorees. “I’m thrilled that these outstanding individuals were recognized by the OACC as the first group of honorees,” said Dr. Jeff Hale, NEO president. “Each is instrumental to our success on campus and very deserving of this statewide honor.” Honorees received a gold medallion and special recognition from the OACC.
Calvin Becker is an instructor in the business and technology department and also leads the NEO Love’s Cup business competition team. Over the last several years, Becker’s team has consistently won awards and cash prizes at the event. Lisa Lewis has served at NEO for over 15 years and is the administrative assistant for the department of student affairs and the student union programming assistant. She has donated several hours to ensuring NEO events are always beautiful, decorating hundreds of centerpieces and decorations. Steve Grimes is the director of the NEO physical plant and has served at NEO for nearly 30 years. Grimes has supervised over $70,000,000 in new construction and campus renovations. His hard work and dedication keeps NEO operating and his maintenance team is invaluable to the college. For more information about the OACC, contact Kendra Cummins at Kendra.Cummins@neo.edu.
