Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College had 12 athletes named National Junior College Athletic Association 2023-2024 All-Academic award winners. Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.6 or higher.

The 12 athletes awarded are members of the NEO Women’s Soccer team, NEO Women’s Basketball team, and NEO Volleyball team. Four athletes were selected to first team, two to second team, and six to third team.

First Team: 4.0 GPA

  • Lauren Foster – Women’s Soccer
  • Lindsey George – Women’s Soccer
  • Arianna Rodriguez – Women’s Soccer
  • Farren Wright – Women’s Soccer

Second Team: 3.8-3.9 GPA

  • Hiba Malkawi – Women’s Basketball
  • Magdalena Mihaljevic – Women’s Basketball

Third Team: 3.6-3.7 GPA

  • Jaycee Beach – Women’s Soccer
  • Morgan Chaney – Women’s Basketball
  • Carolina Furtado – Women’s Basketball
  • Ella Hafer – Women’s Basketball
  • Cheyan McDaniel – Women’s Basketball
  • Mia Steelmon – Volleyball

Along with the NJCAA recognitions, six NEO Wrestling athletes were recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association for their academic excellence and were named Scholar All-Americans. Those students are Karim Allal, John Bray, Cason Deyalsingh, Seth Gutierrez, Tyler Gutierrez, and Elijah Reece. 

“Acknowledging and celebrating academic achievements is top priority for our coaching staff here at NEO,” said NEO athletic director Joe Renfro. “We are extremely proud of our student athletes and the hard work and determination they put into their academics, as well as the effort they put into their sports. Congratulations to all of our student athletes on their academic awards.”
