The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Choirs under the direction of Dr. Tatiana Taylor will present “On My Way to Canaan Land” on Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m. in the NEO Fine Arts Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public and will feature the NEO Chamber Singers and guest Soprano Soloist Ms. Elizabeth Montgomery. “On My Way to Canaan Land” features choral music drawing from African-American Spirituals, American Folk tunes, and classic hymns. Guest Artist Elizabeth Montgomery is a Christian recording artist/writer from Vinita, Okla. She has performed in over 3,000 concerts worldwide.
Her most recent project is a collaboration with Tulsa Conductor Bob Holzmann to produce “Music of Glory,” which explores spiritual and religious music through history. “As with so many others in fine arts, the pandemic has made rehearsing and performing difficult. We are so grateful that our administration at NEO has implemented safety protocols and provided specialized masks that allows us to safely practice and present a live concert,” said Dr. Tatiana Taylor, Director of NEO Choirs. “We are also fortunate to have the opportunity to perform with Ms. Montgomery.”
