The Agriculture Department at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College hosted the 70th annual Aggie Days on March 29-30, 2022 and April 1, 2022. More than 2,000 students visited campus during the three-day event.
Aggie Days is a yearly interscholastic agriculture contest. Student participants from across the four-state area travel to NEO to compete in a variety of events, such as speech and livestock judging. Aggie Days is open to any student who is a member of 4-H or FFA.
During the event, schools had the chance to win two Viking Scholarships by earning team points toward the divisional sweepstakes. Teams in both single teacher and multiple teacher divisions earned points for their performance in individual and group events, with the High Sweepstakes Team earning a Viking Scholarship.
Plaques or buckles were awarded to the top three students and schools in each contest. The Ketchum FFA Chapter won the one-teacher division and the Silo FFA Chapter won the two-teacher division.
“It was exciting for the NEO Agriculture Department to host more than 2,000 students during Aggie Days,” said Dr. Mary Booth, NEO Agriculture department chair. “I appreciate the extra effort from faculty, staff, and students to make this year’s Aggie Days a huge success.”
