Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College will host the 2024 Outstanding Alumni Banquet during homecoming weekend on Friday, October 4, at 6pm in the Calcagno Family Ballroom.
Raised in northeast Oklahoma, Lacinda Rose is a 1996 graduate of Vinita High School. Rose then pursued an associate in science at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. She graduated from NEO in 2004 and attended Pittsburg State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2007.
Following her education, Rose was an educator at Bluejacket Elementary from 2007-2009 and at Cowboy Junction Christian School from 2009-2013. Most recently, she has dedicated her life to horses and rodeo, where she trains horses, gives lessons, hosts clinics, and professionally rodeos.
Rose has had many successes in her professional rodeo career, including being a WPRA Great Lakes Circuit Finals qualifier in barrel racing every year from 2017-2023 and a WPRA GLCF Breakaway qualifier in 2021. Additionally, she holds the WPRA GLC Year End and Finals Average Champion title from 2017, 2018, 2020, and 2023, the WPRA GLC Divisional Tie Down Roping Champion title in 2018, and 23rd in the WPRA World Barrel Racing standings in 2018. Apart from the WPRA, Rose also holds the Iron Cowgirl Champion title from 2019. She was a qualifier for the American Semi in barrel racing in 2019 and for the National Finals Rodeo in 2019.
Rose’s passion and accomplishments in the professional rodeo scene, combined with her dedication to teaching others, make her a worthy recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Alumni award.
All alumni and friends of the college are invited to attend the banquet. Tickets are $35 and $15 (12 and under) or $280 for a table of eight. Purchase tickets at the door or online.
