Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) will offer free adult basic education classes during the month of June. The classes will cover the necessary information to prepare students to take the General Education Development (GED) or HiSET exams and be held from 9:00 a.m. until noon, Monday through Thursday for the entire month of June. The GED and HiSET exams are two of the three tests used in the United States to measure high school equivalency skills. NEO provides the free courses to serve Craig, Delaware, and Ottawa Counties. Classes will begin on Thursday, June 1, and students should bring a pencil and paper to Dyer Hall, room 208 (second floor).
“The student will receive 40 hours of instruction time,” said Sherry McCurley, director of the Adult Learning Center. “This includes total class instruction, small group, one on one, and computer work. We cover the required math, essay writing, science and social studies, and the critical thinking skills that will show up on the tests. Plus, we provide all the necessary materials; we only ask that students bring a pencil and paper.” Pre-registration is not required. For more information on the program, please contact McCurley at 918-540-6292.
