Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) , the division director for the March of Dimes Eastern Oklahoma Division. PBL honored March of Dimes month in November and raised the money through a series of on-campus activities including a chili cook-off, a t-shirt sale, a pie-in-the-face fundraiser, and a March for Babies. PBL also worked concessions for NEO basketball games and a portion of their proceeds went to support March of Dimes. March of Dimes is a national charity organization that provides research, resources, and support to families of premature babies. According to the organization, prematurity is the number one killer of babies in the United States. In response, during 2015, March of Dimes invested over $25 million in research to prevent complications related to premature birth.
“NEO and PBL are proud to support the work of the March of Dimes,” said Brenda Lucas, PBL sponsor and NEO instructor. “Our students worked very hard to give back to this organization, because premature birth affects so many families, even on the NEO campus.” For more information about the March of Dimes, visit www.marchofdimes.org.
