Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO), is be sponsoring the Angel Tree Program for the seventh consecutive year. Applications are due to the Ottawa County Department of Human Services no later than Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. Last year 1,101 children could have experienced a Christmas without the magic of Santa. They could have awoken Christmas morning and found very little- if anything- awaiting them under the tree. Instead, those hundreds of children who leapt out of bed on Christmas morning were greeted with packages adorned with their name. They were put there by the Angel Tree Program at NEO.
The Miami community and NEO employees provided gifts for 1,101 children whose parents were in need of assistance during the 2011 holiday season. Paper angels, each representing a child in need, will be hung on Christmas trees at the Miami Wal-Mart entrances beginning Friday, Nov. 16, 2012. Members of the community are invited to select an angel from the tree and purchase the gift listed on it. Those who are not able to travel to Miami to select an Angel can make a monetary donation to the Angel Tree fund at 200 I St. N.E., Miami, OK, 74354. All gifts should be returned to the Miami Wal-Mart by Sunday, Dec. 10, 2012. Please securely attach the paper angel to its gift to ensure that it is delivered to correct child.
NEO would also like to extend its thanks to the businesses in the Miami community for their help and generosity. For more information about the Angel Tree program feel free to contact Sheena Reece in the Student Recruitment office at NEO A&M College email: sreece@neo.edu. Phone – (918)-540–6395
