Annette Black has joined NEO’s American Indian Center for Excellence as the new Coordinator for Student Mentoring. Mrs. Black was recently honored as one of the 2015 AARP Oklahoma Indian Elder Honorees. As a member of the Peoria Tribe, she worked as an administrative assistant for 18 years. She also serves on the NEO Foundation Board. “As our Coordinator of Student Mentoring, Annette Black (Peoria) will oversee initiatives that involve Elder mentors in inter-generational mentoring and students in providing peer support,” said Rachel Lloyd, grant project director. “She brings enthusiasm, culturally relevant experience and wisdom gained from years of dedicated service to her tribe, higher education and her community.”
