Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Men’s Basketball alum Jonathan Mogbo was selected by the Toronto Raptors as the 31st pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on June 27.

“NEO changed my life,” said Mogbo. “I am thankful to Coach Jackson for believing in me and trusting I can be the next guy to make it out of junior college. Forever a Norseman!”

Following his time at NEO, Mogbo played for Missouri State University for one year before transferring to the University of San Francisco. At USF, he was top five in the country in double-doubles, field goal percentage, and dunks. Additionally, he was named to the District 9 First Team, All-West Coast Conference First Team, WCC Newcomer of the Year, and a Lou Henson Player of the Year award finalist.

“Jonathan is a great kid, athlete, and hard worker who loves NEO and will always be a Norseman at heart,” said NEO Men’s Basketball head coach Jeremy Jackson. “His height, athleticism, skill set, and determined work ethic is what got him to the NBA draft.”

The NEO Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams have won numerous conference and region II titles. Both programs have produced multiple All-Americans and All-Region players. Two-time All American NEO A&M College alum Bethy Mununga from Belgium will represent her country in Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
