The nation’s #9 ranked Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Golden Norsemen will face off against #15 ranked College of DuPage Chaparrals in the fourth annual Citizens Bank Bowl.  The game is slated for a 1 pm kickoff on Sunday, Dec. 2, at Carnie Smith Stadium on the Pittsburg State University campus.  The bowl game is sanctioned by the National Junior College Athletic Association. “We are incredibly excited about the match-up for our bowl game,” said Dean Mann, owner and chairman of Citizens Bank.  “NEO and the College of DuPage are high-caliber teams, and we are proud to bring such a great event to Pittsburg and Southeast Kansas.  The bowl game provides a tremendous opportunity for area football fans to see the best of what junior college football has to offer, and this year will follow that tradition.”

NEO is located in Miami, Oklahoma, and has a record of 9-2, including a win over Trinity Valley, who appeared in last year’s Citizens Bank Bowl.  College of DuPage, located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, has a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. The first two years of the bowl game were sanctioned as the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship.  Past games have featured notable football talent, including Heisman Trophy winner and current NFL quarterback Cam Newton (Blinn), and Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David (Fort Scott).  Previous year’s players also include former Butler Grizzly and current LSU standout Zach Mettenberger.
