Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Assistant Football Coach is responsible to the Head Football Coach for helping manage a varsity intercollegiate sports program and team. Specific responsibilities include supervising players, coaching a position, and supervising less experienced coaches in certain situations given by the head coach.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Coach offense and help implement the plan and philosophy of the offense.
  • Responsible for helping prepare all aspects of the offensive plan and scheme as delegated by the head coach & offensive coordinator
  • Assists head coach in the day-to-day operation of the program. Mainly through Equipment needs within the program.
  • Expected to become knowledgeable in Oklahoma High School Football recruiting.
  • Demonstrates an active interest in the academic progress of student athletes.
  • Responsible for recruiting as delegated by the Head Coach.
  • Helps prepare offensive scouting reports.
  • Works proficiently with multiple computer software systems daily
  • Helps coordinate incoming student athletes’ equipment and lockers.
  • Instructs proper skills and skill development to student-athletes
  • Works under the supervision of the head coach
  • Keeps an organized and proper workspace
  • Shows up on time for scheduled meetings and events

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in coaching
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including that for recruiting and video analysis
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work weekends & evenings, and to travel

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to contribute to recruiting visits with great energy and enthusiasm
