Administrators at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) are announcing that Conner Vernon was recently selected as NEO Agriculture Instructor and Head Livestock Judging Coach. With experience in livestock judging, business management, and farm/ranch operations, Vernon will begin in July in preparation for the fall semester. “We are excited to have Conner joining the NEO Agriculture Department as our Livestock Judging Team Coach and Instructor,” said Dr. Mary Booth, Agriculture Department Chair. “Conner’s enthusiasm, background, training, and commitment to developing young people not only into strong livestock evaluators, but quality individuals, is motivating for us all.”
Vernon takes over perhaps the most acclaimed, long-standing livestock judging program in the country. Among notable recent accomplishments, NEO Livestock Judging has a national champion in Mattie Haynes in 2020. With this tradition in mind, Vernon is eager to get started. “Words can’t describe my excitement about joining the NEO family,” said Vernon. “It’s truly an honor to be a part of such a prestigious agricultural program. I’m honored to continue the tradition of success and to have the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of industry leaders.” For more information about the NEO Livestock Judging program, contact Brittany Coffee at Brittany.Coffee@neo.edu.
