We recently honored the life and legacy of Marijane Gregg-Sidote. Marijane graduated from NEO in 1950. After NEO, she continued her studies at Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University), where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in bacteriology. She spent most of her career with Abbott Laboratories and retired as the director of regulatory affairs. Her proudest career accomplishment occurred in 1985 when she helped fast-track the first HIV antibody test approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration.
NEO had such an impact on her life that in 2023 her estate established the Mrs. Marijane Gregg-Sidote Memorial Scholarship, funded equipment for laboratories in Cunningham Hall, and provided funding for future renovations of the fountain at the center of campus.
With great thanks and admiration, NEO A&M College dedicates room 110 in Cunningham Hall to Mrs. Marijane Gregg-Sidote.
