The 2015-16 horse judging team at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) recently attended and swept both spring contests. The team is under the direction of Coach Amanda Burrows. The first contest the team attended was the North American College and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) horse judging contest in Moline, Illinois. Black Hawk College hosted the contest in conjunction with collegiate judging events. There were multiple clinics for 4-H and FFA chapters. NEO competed and took home High Point Team. There were 10 teams represented at the contest. The team dominated the contest by taking home first place in halter, performance and reasons. The second stop for the team was another spring contest held in Gainesville, Texas. With 11 teams, NEO swept the contest bringing home High Point Team again. “I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication this team has already put forward,” Burrows said. “They have set the bar high for themselves and their teammates. They continue to encourage and push each other to accomplish all their goals. I am looking forward to a great fall.”

The team as a whole took first place in halter, performance and reasons. The 2015-2016 team is just starting their competitive season and have more contests after the summer. The upcoming contests will be held in the fall of 2015, those contests include: Tulsa State Fair, All American Quarter Horse Congress and the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) World Show.
