Horse Judgers from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) attended the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) World Championship Show in Oklahoma City, Okla. on Nov. 21, 2013 and won Third High Point Team in Halter, Reserve High Team Performance, Reserve High Team Reasons, and Reserve High Point Team Overall. The AQHA World Championship Show takes place in Oklahoma City, Okla. Nov. 9_21 and plays host to the prestigious Intercollegiate Horse Judging Contest that took place on Nov. 21st. Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College took the title of Reserve World Champion Team and third place team in the Junior College Division. “I am tremendously proud of our students. They have worked so hard and are such a wonderful group,” said Amanda Burrows, NEO horse judging coach.

NEO had two teams compete in the junior college division. NEO’s first team (consisting of Sadey Saputo, Helen Gagan, Tandy Kidd, and Lauren Walsh) captured the title of Overall Reserve Champion Team, being the Fourth High Team in Halter, Reserve Champion Team in the Performance division, and Reserve Champion Team in Reasons.

NEO’s second team (consisting of Caitlin Dunsmore, Lauren Crudup, Aubrey-Ann Gilmore, and Jenalee Nies) placed Third High Team Overall, taking Third High in Halter, Third High Team in Performance, and Third High Team in Reasons. Kelsey Matthews won High Individual in Performance, Fifth High Individual in Reasons, and High Point Individual Overall. Gagan placed Second High in Performance, Ninth High in Reasons, and Third High Individual Overall. Saputo was Third High in Halter, Fifth High in Performance, High Individual in Reasons, and Fourth High Individual Overall. Gilmore took Seventh in Performance and Seventh High Individual Overall. Nies placed 10th in Performance, Sixth in Reasons, and Eighth High Individual Overall. Kidd placed Eighth in Performance, Eighth in Reasons, and Ninth High Individual Overall. Crudup placed 10th High Individual Overall. Dunsmore placed Seventh in Halter. Team members include: Caitlin Dunsmore–McKinny, Texas Lauren Crudup–Belton, Mo. Sadey Saputo–Laramie, Wyo.
