The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College theatre experience program will host auditions from 6-8 pm on Sunday, June 18, and Monday, June 19, for the popular parody, “PUFFS, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.

For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the “Puffs,” who just happened to be there too—a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

Auditions are open to the public and will be held in the NEO Fine Arts Center. Ages 13-19 are welcome to audition. Performers are encouraged to prepare a 60-90 second monologue they can have fun with and enjoy. Auditions will include cold readings from the script.

Crew positions are also available. Young people who want to learn more about theatre can train firsthand in lighting, sound, set design, props, costumes, and makeup.

“NEO Theatre provided me with a space to grow as an artist and person,” said show director and NEO Theatre alum Anna Seat. “I am honored to carry on the tradition of opening our stage to young creatives and fostering their passion for the arts. I hope to offer area high school students an artistic learning experience and share our philosophy of everyone being part of the creative process.”

Students planning to attend NEO in the fall may use their audition to qualify for theatre scholarships. NEO Theatre is a co-curricular, non-degree program available to students of any major.

“Puffs” performances are in the NEO Fine Arts Center July 27-29 at 7:30 pm and July 30, 2023, at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for teens. Admission is free for NEO students, employees, and Presidential Partners.

“Puffs (One Act Edition)” by Matt Cox is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
