The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College theatre experience program will present the famous Sondheim musical, “Into the Woods,” in the Fine Arts Center May 4-6.
“Into the Woods” is the Tony Award-winning mashup of The Brothers Grimm stories in one epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make.
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless yet relevant piece that is both enchanting and touching.
“Into the Woods” is a musically sophisticated show featuring talented performers from Oklahoma and Missouri, including 1989 NEO alum Kristie Harris who will play The Giantess alongside her three children cast in separate roles.

NEO Theatre has gradually improved the Fine Arts Center’s technical capabilities while training students in methods of professional live theatre production. The facility has a new house control booth and sound and lighting equipment built and installed by students, alumni, and community volunteers.
“NEO Theatre provides a creative space where people can grow,” said Aaron Smith, NEO Theatre coordinator and show director. “We love theatre. We love performing and making it all work. Everyone contributes to the creative process. Everyone learns new information and develops new skills.”
NEO Theatre is a co-curricular, non-degree program available to students of any major. Scholarships are open for the 2023-2024 year.
“Into the Woods” performances are in the NEO Fine Arts Center May 4-6, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance Saturday, May 6 at 12:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for teens. Admission is free for NEO students, employees, and Presidential Partners.
