Our business clubs and competitions give you useful industry experience. Set yourself and your resume apart.
Accounting Club
The accounting club is open to any student interested in the accounting profession. Club members are invited to monthly meetings with guest speakers. Tour local businesses to learn from their accounting practices.
Investment Club
Investment club members study stock market investing principles. We look at the theories of Ben Graham, Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch and the CANSLIM.
NEO Investment Challenge
The investment club sponsors an online stock market simulation. During this activity, everyone starts with the same amount of money. But where everyone finishes—well, that’s a story that hasn’t been written yet! The competition runs from the start of the fall semester until April 15 of the spring semester. A cash scholarship is awarded to the top two finishers.
FBLA Collegiate
Future Business Leaders of America is a student organization devoted to developing competent leaders and focusing on service, education, and progress. Members can network with their peers, business instructors, and community business leaders. Each year, members of FBLA participate in state and national conferences, compete for scholarship money, and are active on campus and in our community.
Love’s Cup
The Love’s Cup is a business plan competition between teams from colleges across the region. The Small Business Division is open to two-year colleges and four-year, non-research colleges and universities. Since it began in 2013, NEO teams have earned titles in the Small Business Division. In the competition, the team selects a business and develops a plan for that business, including marketing and financial. Members present the plan to a team of investors somewhat like the Shark Tank television show. Members of the NEO Governor’s Cup team are selected by faculty based on their academic and leadership abilities.
