Room assignments are made on a first come, first served basis, based on receipt of housing deposit and a mandatory Post Office fee. Without a completed application and housing deposit, a room assignment will not be made.
Private rooms are granted based on availability, with priority given to returning students.
Room changes may be requested only after the second full week of classes during both the Fall and Spring semesters.
What to pack
Students may have: clocks, hand irons, hair dryers, curling/straightening irons, shavers, electric blankets, lamps, stereos, computers, popcorn poppers, televisions, VCR’s, DVD players, coffee pots, ice tea pots and cappuccino makers.
Students may bring their own refrigerator if it is smaller than 4.4 cubic feet.
What not to pack
Due to limited electrical capacity and fire risks NEO has restrictions on electrical appliances that students may use in their rooms.
Prohibited items include: halogen lamps, open coil cooking appliances, toasters, microwaves, portable heaters, toaster ovens, sun lamps, broadcasting equipment (short-wave citizen band, etc.), air conditioners, George Foreman Grills (any size) and candles or incense.
Pets are prohibited: fish, dogs, cats, turtles, sheep, lambs, and rodents, etc.
Amenities
The resident’s rooms come with extra-long twin mattresses. We suggest that you purchase extra long twin sheets.
Laundry rooms are equipped with washers and dryers (no quarters needed! Just laundry soap and dryer sheets.)
All resident halls are equipped with broadband high-speed internet.
