Admissions & Registrar

Welcome to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. The Admissions and Registrar’s Office is where it all begins. We will be the first office you meet to gain admission to the college and the last office you see as you graduate. We look forward to answering your questions and helping you reach your educational goals. Thank you for considering NEO A&M College for your educational needs.

Applying for Admission

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College has an “open admission policy that provides easy access to educational opportunities. Admission requirements are established by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Be sure to complete the admissions process prior to class enrollment dates: Spring and summer enrollment opens in November; Fall enrollment opens in April.

Admission to NEO is open to high school graduates or to any person whose high school class has graduated. There is no deadline for application submission. It is free to apply. and it’s all online!

First-Time Freshman

  • All students seeking admission must complete an application and submit a high school transcript (seven-semester minimum) or a copy of a high school equivalency certificate and immunization records.  The final, official transcript must include the graduation date and be submitted to the Office of Admissions. All students seeking admission into associate degree or certificate programs at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College are required to participate in entry-level assessment and placement. 

Re-Admission Students

A student who has attended NEO but was not enrolled during the previous semester must complete a new application.

Transfer Students

Transfer students must complete an application for admission, submit official transcripts from high school and every college ever attended, as well as *immunization records to the Admissions Office.

International Students

Students who are citizens of countries other than the United States and who completed their secondary education or its equivalent may be eligible for admission to NEO. Certain educational, financial, and immigration documents are required, as well as proof of minimum proficiency in English. Please contact the International Program Office for more information.

Non-Degree Seeking Students

A student who does not plan to pursue a degree at NEO or apply for financial assistance at NEO may enroll in a maximum of nine credit hours without submitting academic credentials. Proficiency assessments may be required before enrollment in collegiate-level courses. Contact the Admissions Office for exceptions to this policy. Enrollment beyond nine hours will require formal admission.

High School Concurrent Students (Dual Enrollment)

Concurrent high school students must be eligible to satisfy the high school curricular requirements for college admission no later than the spring semester of their senior year. A high school student admitted as a concurrent student may enroll in a combined number of high school and college courses per semester, not to exceed a full-time college workload of 19 semester credit hours. A student may enroll in a maximum of 9 semester credit hours during a summer semester. For purposes of calculating workload, one high school credit course is equivalent to three semester credit hours of college work. A high school student must meet the following requirements: Accredited High School

  1. Seniors and Juniors must achieve a minimum composite score of 19 on the National ACT/ Pre-ACT or 3.0 high school GPA.

Home School/Unaccredited High School

  1. Seniors must be 17 years of age and must achieve a minimum composite score of 19 on the National ACT/ Pre-ACT
  2. Juniors must be 16 years of age and must achieve a minimum composite score of 19 on the National ACT/ Pre-ACT

To help ensure that a student possesses the skills necessary to be successful in college, a student must obtain a 19 on the National ACT/ Pre-ACT subject score(s) in English, math, and/or science to enroll in coursework in the respective subject area(s). The student must score 19 or higher in reading to enroll in any other collegiate course(s) outside the subjects of English, math, and science. If the student qualifies for admissions based on their overall National ACT/ Pre-ACT score or GPA but does not have a National ACT/ Pre-ACT score of 19 in the subject area they wish to enroll in, they will be allowed to take one placement test per subject per semester. If they receive a qualifying score on the placement test, they will be allowed to enroll in the subject area tested.

Once a student is concurrently enrolled, the student may continue enrollment, provided that during the concurrent enrollment period, the student achieves a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.To enroll, the student must submit the following items each semester:

  • Updated high school transcript & high school schedule

* Oklahoma state law requires verification of hepatitis B & MMR vaccinations for all students and meningococcal vaccination for students residing in campus housing. Please go to www.cdc.gov or call 1-800-232-2522 to obtain information concerning hepatitis B & MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) and meningococcal disease.

The Admissions and Registrar’s office is the central place to find information about enrollment and how to register for classes. They also help students with official documents that are commonly needed such as enrollment and degree verification needed for insurance and job inquiries.
